West Coast Treetop Walkway
The West Coast Treetop Walkway offers a unique way to explore New Zealand’s ancient rainforest from above. Suspended high among towering rimu, kahikatea, and totara trees, this elevated walkway provides breathtaking panoramic views and a new perspective on the lush, verdant forest below.
Ideal for visitors of all ages, the gentle, accessible paths allow you to wander through the canopy at your own pace, discovering rare birdlife, native plants, and the rich ecosystem thriving in the treetops. Interpretive signage along the route shares the history, flora, and fauna of the area, deepening your connection with the environment.
Seasonal changes transform the forest, offering a fresh experience year-round—from misty mornings and spring blooms to autumnal hues. The walkway culminates in a spectacular viewing platform, perfect for photography, contemplation, or simply soaking in the beauty of the forest and surrounding landscapes.
For the more adventurous – the zipline cranks down a 425m line – your starting points a full on 47m from the rainforest floor. Adventurers can expect to reach up to 60km/hr – a thrilling experience after your walk around the platform amongst the trees.
