9km South of Hokitika, off SH6 – on the right heading South. Wander through the sand dunes and totara forest, popping out to the wild beach. From the beach you will see a stunning view of the Southern Alps.

Follow the track over the Clearwater suspension bridge, pass tall kahikatea and rimu to the jetty viewpoint. Here you will be greeted by magnificent mountain views reflected in the dark waters. Lake Matheson is famous for its stunning mirror-like reflections.
