West Coast Horse Adventures

West Coast Horse Adventures offers an immersive horseback trekking experience through the diverse landscapes of New Zealand’s West Coast. Located near Charleston on State Highway 6, the property is enveloped by native bush and rainforest, providing a serene backdrop for riders. The treks are designed to cater to riders of all abilities, with small group sizes ensuring personalized attention.

You have the option of two treks which will take you through our beautiful native bush. One to a bluff that you can explore and the other to the local beach across the road from our property. Should you wish we provide a custom ride if you are not wanting to be part of a group trek.

Our treks differ from a standard trek as we prefer to provide a more natural riding experience where you get to ride the horse more so than the horse taking you for a ride. This can give more experienced riders the opportunity to go for a trot or canter along the beach.

We provide a 15-minute ride around the paddock to assess your riding ability or, if you are a beginner, the chance to learn the basics before heading off on your ride.

West Coast Horse Adventures also gives riders the chance to camp on the property and experience our riding school. Enhance your riding ability and rediscover your confidence, especially if you have not ridden for some time.
